Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Joe Rega and I have been doing SEO for ten years. Please feel free to check out my blog on recent search trends as well as many other random topics I write about.

I describe myself as a digital custodian. My work involves fixing and repairing websites that have poor rankings or outdated code. My experience started in the late 90’s by creating websites in dreamweaver and manually editing HTML on those pages. From there I graduated to designing and creating pages completely from scratch, without the use of any WYSIWYG tools. This helped to solidify my knowledge of code. Then I began working with CSS which allowed for a lot more freedom with production time.

After a while I grew increasingly interested in Search Engine Optimization, more commonly referred to as SEO, when I found myself questioning how certain websites were outranking others in search engines. After researching this further I became fascinated with this field and wanted to pursue it further.

Over the past ten years I have been studying and implementing SEO while keeping up to date with the best practices. My favorite aspect of this field are the technical audits I get to perform on clients sites. This allows both myself and the client to see what was historically done with their website as well as show them what efforts are and are not working. For a list of my certifications, click here.

Regarding search, I have attended several conferences over the years, such as PubCon, SMX East and C3 , that have helped expand my knowledge of SEO, Social Media and overall marketing skills. I was fortunate enough to meet Matt Cutts and Duane Forrester; both are incredibly nice and intelligent people.

On a personal note, when I’m not auditing and optimizing websites I enjoy playing bass (4 and 6-string), riding my mountain bike (I’m a huge Trek fan) photography (Canon Eos Rebel T3i) and kickboxing.
